Fall Protection

Fall restraint system prevents workers from reaching a hazard, such as the edge of a roof, although the use of a full-body harness with a fall arrest system allows workers to reach a fall hazard area if necessary to complete their tasks, but provides protection should a fall occur.

Personal fall arrest system means a system used to arrest an employee in a fall from a walking-working surface. It consists of a body harness, anchorage, and connector. The means of connection may include a lanyard, deceleration device such as a self retracting lifeline, a lifeline w/rope grab, or a suitable combination of these products.
